The labyrinth is found in all religious traditions in various forms around the world. Our labyrinth at St. Francis Woods is a replica of the famous Chartres Labyrinth, laid in the floor of Chartres Cathedral around 1220.
In its classical form, the labyrinth consists of a single concentric circular path leading to the center. Walking the labyrinth is an ancient spiritual act and a physical meditation that is being rediscovered during our time. |
